Plain language, kept short.

• What you get. Search results are snippets and metadata (title, a text excerpt, a score, and a link) pointing back to the original source. This is a search index, not a republication of the underlying content.
• Podcast text is bounded. Podcast transcript excerpts are capped at 1,200 characters per hit. Every podcast hit is always linked to its source audio (see the hit's url, with start_sec/end_sec in meta marking the clip). The cap never removes the link.
• Takedown requests. Honored promptly. Contact shapeandfact+takedown@gmail.com.
• No warranty. Provided as-is, with no guarantee of accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose.
• Corpus coverage. Each corpus's coverage (date range, source, size) is only as declared in the catalog, not a broader claim than what's stated there. The catalog you can read today is the corpora directory on this site; GET /corpora will serve the same catalog as JSON once the public API is live (see the notice at the top of this page).
• Bring-your-own-key passthroughs. Any corpus that passes a caller-supplied API key through to a third-party provider (a "BYOK" corpus) is governed by that upstream provider's own terms of service, not these terms, for whatever happens on their end.
